Dodging raindrops and even a few snowflakes, the members of the Northeast District of the General Federated Woman’s Club planted pinwheels on Highway 395 under the belltower at the United Church of Christ. “Pinwheels for Prevention” is a national campaign to raise awareness about domestic abuse and to prevent child abuse and neglect in America.
GFWC Chewelah Woman’s Club planted a garden of pinwheels to call attention to this serious social issue. Each Northeast district member was asked to bring one pinwheel to plant in the belltower garden. These pinwheels will remain there through the month of April.
All local clubs and organizations are invited to add to the pinwheel garden at any time. Let’s join together as a community to bring awareness, focus on healthy families and to put an end to child abuse and neglect. Help us fill the garden with pinwheels.
