(STAFF REPORTS/Chewelah Independent)
Save for a few flakes on Christmas, it has been a relatively winter weather-free Holiday season so far. That might change as snow showers are expected in the later part of Saturday, December 28.
The snow will be brought by a weak weather system. Highs are expected just above freezing for Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with Sunday having a high of 35.
Snow is expected again on New Years Eve on Tuesday, with a high of 35 and low of 30.
According to the 49 Degrees North ski resort website, Chewelah Peak has 26 inches of snow, while the snow level around the ski lodge is 10 inches.
