They made their home at Daisy on Orval’s grandparents’ farm. They were blessed with 6 children: Garry, Judy, Sandra, Calvin, Rena and Jackie. Orval and Wauneta farmed, logged and ranched in the Daisy/Gifford area for more than 55 years. In 1999, due to Orval’s declining health, they moved to Chewelah where Wauneta lived until her passing.

She was a member of the Daisy-Gifford Homemaker’s Club and a 50-plus year member of the Stranger Creek Grange. She and Orval began and continued to hold the Evergreen School Reunion for many years.
