1) Social distancing doesn’t mean connection distancing
Stay connecting with your loved ones and friends. Use technology such as social media, or video calling technology like Zoom to see and talk with those ones you would like to communicate with.
2) Make a routine and schedule
Knowing what is ahead of you can relieve some of the stress and tension during this time of a lot of unknowns. While you shouldn’t go overboard with the planning, having a daily schedule at home gives you more to look forward too.
3) Exercise and physical activity
Exercise can help you body deal with stress and anxiety, plus it can keep you healthy!
4) Turn off social media, turn on other mediums
Look into books and other mediums, turn off the internet, which can be full of misinformation and let your brain take a rest for a while. Limit exposure to TV and internet news and take it in small doses
5) Positive family time
If you’re in your home with your family, its a good time for games, activities and other bonding moments
6) Alone time
It’s also good just to have a little time to yourself and regather strength, focus on meditation and relaxation as well. Bathe daily and keep up hygiene routines.
7) Remember things will get better
Don’t get in a catastrophic mode, things will get better and get back to normal. Most people are good and people are going to help each other.
8) Use lots of humor
Humor helps during these situations. Remember your tough and you have gone through challenges before. It’s best to take this with a bit of humor as well. Instead of obsessing over the virus, do what you can to help the situation but also keep a positive mindset.
