Carol Bauer 1936 – 2020
A longtime Chewelah resident, Carole now rests in peace after a successful career in office management and accounting that was followed by a fulfilling retirement of travel and life at home in Eastern Washington.
In 1998 she retired from the Stevens County Auditor’s Office and prior to that she worked for a medical group, also located in Colville. Before moving to Eastern Washington she spent many years in the security alarm industry in Northern and Southern California.
Memorable to her many acquaintances, friends, and family as friendly with an assertive and determined soul, Carole was focused to live and achieve on her own terms. In life, and in death, Carole did things her way. Survived by daughter Melanie (Chernoy – Schiffman), son Drew (Chernoy), an aunt and uncle, her sisters, several cousins, their extended families, and local relations to Jerry Bauer who, after 47 years together, preceded her in passing in 2011. No services are planned. Carole asked that in lieu of any memorial that donations be made to one’s favorite charity or KEWU Eastern Washington Public Radio, whose Jazz Music programming she enjoyed.
The family would like to thank the staff at Providence Saint Joseph medical Center in Chewelah for all of their compassionate and professional assistance.
