With reports of flooding around the county, the National Weather Service has issued a small stream flood advisory for Southeastern Stevens County due to rain and snowmelt. The weather service said that river gauges are showing rapid rises on many small rivers and creeks in the area. Minor flooding is possible especially in low lying areas.
In Stevens County, video of flooding in the 4700 area of Springdale Hunters Road is being reported and some people have been evacuated. The Kettle River in north Stevens County has reached over seven feet in gauged height.
With recent rainfall of one to three inches, be alert to rock or mud slides on steep terrain. Most river levels will reach their peak by early evening and levels will gradually fall overnight.
At low water crossings, do not attempt to cross flooded roads and find an alternate route.
