Fire Hall Supports Junior Shooting Sport

The fire hall in Chewelah generously donated a check for $200 to the American Legion Junior Shooting sport program that officially started on March 7.

They will be shooting at St. Mary’s School basement beginning Tuesday, March 20 at 6 p.m., but have plans to move to another location eventually.

There are still openings for those interested in shooting a Pellet gun.

The focus of the program is not only to teach gun safety, but to teach self discipline and self control. This is also a great program for scholarships and of course there is a whole lot of fun. They are starting with donations only from anyone, and borrowing some things from the Colville 4H shooting club. The ages range from 8 to 18 and you do not have to be a member to be apart of this. It is encouraged that the parents are actively involved as well.
