P.E.O. Chapter BS, Chewelah, WA, is pleased to announce that the first annual Peggy Meyer Memorial Scholarship has been awarded to Elizabeth Grubb of Chewelah, in the amount of $650.00. Elizabeth will use these funds to help further her education beyond the high school level.
This scholarship was founded through the P.E.O. Foundation with funds generously contributed to the chapter by family and community members in honor of Peggy, and with a munificent contribution from the Meyer family. The scholarship will be awarded annually to continue to honor the legacy of giving shown by Peggy throughout her life. Peggy was an active member of the Chewelah Chapter of P.E.O. and a generous supporter of many projects in our community.
The P.E.O. Sisterhood is an international, non-profit organization founded in 1869 and is dedicated to bringing women increased opportunities for higher education. The Chewelah P.E.O. Chapter awards several local scholarships yearly, and has been successful in sponsoring a number of adult women in our community with financial help for higher education.
