ChewVino back in action with new owner taking over Chewelah’s winebar and bistro…
ChewVino has been a nice gem in the downtown area for Chewelah and it will continue to be after a grand reopening by new owner Diane Conroy.
Diane has been in Chewelah for eight years and said the wine bar in the small NE Washington town had been a great place to dine and hang out with friends.
“I always loved the way it looked and loved the atmosphere; it’s just a great place to meet people,” Diane said.
When Rich and Krisan LeHew were looking for new owners for the establishment, Diane wanted to bring her business background to the table and thought it would be a great fit.
“Rich and Krisan did such a wonderful job creating this place for the people in Chewelah and I wanted to carry on the tradition,” Diane said. “They we’re amazing in helping with the transition, were great mentors and are some of the kindest people I’ve met.”
ChewVino had a great turnout on their first two nights under new ownership as specials included half-off drinks. Diane said she intends to keep the normal menu that people loved at ChewVino but is also planning on adding new drinks and more main course, full-plate meals.
Diane is also planning on having more desserts and re-opened the deli case so people can buy gourmet cheese and meats to go. She also intends on having a monthly “Charity Chew” where 10 percent of sales on a specific night will go to a local charity. There will also be ladies nights the last Wednesday of every month and trivia nights with free appetizers.
The hours will stay the same, as ChewVino will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 3-8 p.m. in the winter and 4-9 p.m. in the summer.
If you haven’t already tried out this gem of a Chewelah establishment, check it out, and if you’re familiar with it, you already know it’s a great place to see friends!
