Chewelah Hires Chef, Adds New Options

ChewVino, Chewelah’s local wine bar, has recently expanded their offerings to include more menu options, Sunday breakfast and a selection of high-quality, take-home cigars. ChewVino is located at 101 N. 4th street in Chewelah and is open Wed.-Sat. from 4 p.m. to close and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Owners Krisan and Rich Lehew recently hired chef Laura Cockrell to help expand the venue’s food offerings. Cockrell, who has worked at restaurants in Portland, is helping to expand the menu from artisan pizzas and salads to also include more “small plate” offerings like Moraccan lamb skewers, chili empanadas and other eclectic options. Drinks available at ChewVino include wine, microbrews or cocktails.
Cigar aficionados can also find a selection of high-quality cigars that can be purchased at ChewVino for take-home use.
In addition, ChewVino is also offering a Sunday breakfast from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sundays. Families with children are welcome, but children must be at least 8 years of age. The age minimum is due to the inability for ChewVino to provide high-chairs or “kiddie plate” sized meal options. Breakfast menu options have recently included corn beef hash and eggs Benedict served with Organic coffee.
