Chewelah Enjoys Quality Concert

news_air-guard-wingspan1500The Air National Guard Band of the Northwest played a lively concert to a full crowd at the Chewelah City Park on July 1. The “Jazz in Blue” ensemble, along with the “Wingspan” rock band, performed familiar songs throughout the warm and sunny evening. Kids enjoyed dancing on the grass and picnic tables in front of the amphitheatre stage, and the band had fun interacting with the Chewelah crowd. Elvis even made an appearance.

The free concert was the band’s last appearance in Chewelah before it is to be disbanded in October 2013. The Air Guard Band was thankful to Bud and Diane Evans for providing dinner for them prior to the concert. The Chewelah Arts Guild served locally made hot dogs and strawberry shortcake during the event.
