Charles W. Allan

Charles W. Allan, 91, passed away April 23, 2016 at Spokane. He was born in Chewelah on November 10, 1924 and attended Jenkins High School.

Charles lived in Chewelah his entire life and worked as a project manager building tunnels and hydroelectric dams for Sterling Crane for 30 years before retiring in 1990.

Charles served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946, during WWII. He was awarded the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and Medal of Honor.

Charles enjoyed gardening and woodworking and was a member of the V.F.W., American Legion, and Masons.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine, in 2015.

Charles is survived by a daughter, Cathy Lilly; sons Eddie Allan, Terry Allan, Barry Allan, and Kim Allan; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The Neptune Society was in charge of arrangements.
