Seven different Selkirk players score touchdowns…
Selkirk scored on the ground and through the air in a big 80-6 NE 1B football victory over Inchelium on Friday night on Kettle Falls’ football field. Selkirk evened their record at 1-1 after a loss to No. 3 ranked Entiat last week. Their opponent this week, Inchelium, didn’t field a team last year and had eight kids to play the game.
Ty Taylor led the Rangers with 110 yards rushing and two scores.
Selkirk led 28-0 after the first quarter thanks to 55-yard touchdown run by Aiden Penney, an 82-yard touchdown pass from Jay Link to Zech Curran, a Link 16-yard run and a 76-yard interception return by Justin Krabbenhoft.
In the second quarter, Taylor ripped off a 62-yard touchdown run, Luke Couch rushed for a 20-yard touchdown and Taylor notched a 12-yard touchdown pass for the 52-0 halftime lead.
Link posted his second touchdown pass in the third quarter, throwing a 33-yard scoring strike to Krabbenhoft.
Inchelium got their lone score of the game as Dayton Seymour ran free for 65 yards for a touchdown.
Connor Bailey returned a 60-yard kickoff return for a score, Link threw a 20-yard touchdown to Stevens Davis and Davis rounded out all the scoring with a 40-yard touchdown return.
Link finished the game with 182 yards passing.
Selkirk will host Wellpinit next week at 7 p.m. in Ione.
