(STAFF REPORTS/Chewelah Independent)
Snow expected tonight and tomorrow…
Two to three inches of snow is expected in the Chewelah Valley overnight as a deep low pressure system off the Washington and Oregon coast hurls storms towards the area. According to the National Weather Service, a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 10 p.m. this evening to 2 p.m. on Thursday.
Precipitation is expected to start near the Wenatchee mountains this evening and track across the evening. Tempretures in NE Washington will warm up a few degrees but still remain well below average temperatures.
Northeast winds of five to 15 miles per hour could bring snowdrifts to the area as well.
