Springdale can’t play the spoiler…
Springdale went out of league to take on the GSL’s North Central looking to play the role of David against the larger Spokane school. Despite putting together a competetive match, the Chargers couldn’t come home with a win, falling in straight sets 23-25, 19-25, 21-25.
Audrey Wellhausen had a pair of blocks and Andrea Wellhausen knocked down 13 kills, while Mattea Gines lead the way with 25 digs and an ace in the losing effort for Springdale (11-3).
Bridget Todd was the top performer for North Central (3-3, 2-2) with 24 digs and five aces.
The Chargers will face Reardan Oct. 15 on the road. The game begins at 6:30 p.m.
Colville gets the win
A little home cooking got Colville back to their winning ways Thursday night, taking down Deer Park in four sets, 25-22, 25-18, 19-25, 25-17.
The lone blip in an otherwise mostly dominant performance came in the third set after the Indians (6-4, 4-3) rolled out to the two set lead. It didn’t take them long to get over the dropped set, finishing off the Stags (2-7, 2-5) in the fourth.
Brooke Stutzer pounded down nine kills as part of an array of outstanding performances for Colville. Kiley Power threw up 26 assists on the night, and Katelynn Lewis scooped up eleven digs. Mckenaa Reggear added in three blocks to help lead the way on defense along with Lewis in the win.
Colville will try to make it two in a row when they host Riverside Oct. 15 at 6:30 p.m.
