SEPT. 19: NORTH EASTERN WA HUMANE SOCIETY
The next meeting of the North Eastern WA Humane Society will be on Monday, Sept. 19, at 7 p.m. at the Pizza Factory in Suncrest. Items to be discussed are the Spay/Neuter Partnership with the Spokane Humane Society and Bake Sale Fundraiser to be held in December. New members are always welcome.
Volunteers for transport, fostering and baking are encouraged to contact Becky Washington, Secretary of NEWHS.
NEWHS started its partnership with the SHS in May, offering transport for Stevens County residents wishing to take advantage of $40 spays and neuters at the SHS Clinic. This program has been successful in getting over 35 dogs spayed or neutered, so far. The two transport dates in September are full, with 10 dogs scheduled each day. Dates for October are filling fast.
To schedule your dog, call 509-563-4040, and a representative will contact you. NEWHS officers are also available for informational/educational presentations. If your group would like to schedule a presentation, use the previously mentioned contact number to reach President Brian Ferrante, or Secretary Becky Washington. It is the goal of NEWHS to offer shelter and care of animals in need in Stevens County, eventually. Until a Shelter facility has been realized, NEWHS is happy to assist with other services and programs. To find out more, please visit our Facebook page or website, www.newhumane.org.
