Nov. 26: Free Meal at Civic Center
Please join us for a free Thanksgiving style meal at the Chewelah Civic Center on Saturday, November 26 from 1 to 2 p.m., sponsored by your local Seventh-day Adventist Church. If you are in need of transportation or have any questions, please call 936-2599. Also, we would like to announce that there will be no regularly scheduled meal for the month of December. We will look forward to seeing you again after the New Year.
Nov. 29: Tri-County ICC Meeting
The Tri-County ICC will meet Tuesday, Nov. 29 at the Colville School District board room. The CSD offices are located at 217 S. Hofstetter St. in Colville. The meeting will run from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Meetings are open to the public, and parents, specifically those who have children with disabilities or delays, are encouraged to attend.
Nov. 30: Free Meal at St. Mary’s
St. Mary of the Rosary Catholic Church invites the community to a free dinner at the St. Mary of the Rosary Parish Hall on Wednesday, Nov. 30 from 6:30-8 p.m. The hall is located at 502 E Main, Chewelah.
Nov. 30: Rural Resources Meeting
The regular meeting of the Board of Health of Northeast Tri County Health District will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2016. The meeting will be held at the Tri County Economic Development District, 986 S. Main St., Colville, Wa., 99114. The public is invited and encouraged to attend. Public input is welcome. This meeting site is barrier free. People needing special accommodations should contact Kelly LeCaire at Northeast Tri County Health District at (509) 684-1301 by November 23, 2016.
Dec. 1: First Thursday Art Walk
The First Thursday Art Walk will be Dec. 1 from 5-8 p.m. in Downtown Chewelah. There is also an artists party at ChewVino and Quartzite Brewery from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30.
Dec. 3: SCCA Annual Meeting
The 2016 Stevens County Cattlemen’s Association (SCCA) annual business meeting will be held on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 1 p.m. at the Stevens County Ambulance building located at 425 N. HWY 395 in Colville. The meeting will include officer elections, discussions on local issues and guest speakers.
SCCA is a local, independent cattlemen’s association focused on supporting ranch families in Stevens County and working to promote their success and longevity. SCCA has engaged on issues like wolf conflicts, challenges with state agencies regarding water and land use, forest land management and other issues on behalf of their members. SCCA also works to share information with the public on ranching issues via their website, www.stevenscountycattlemen.com and their Facebook page.
Dec. 9: Chamber Raffle Drawing
The Chewelah Chamber of Commerce has kicked off their holiday raffle and three winners could receive up to $200 in Chamber Bucks.
Raffle tickets are $5 each and winners will be drawn on December 9, 2016 at the Chamber meeting. The top winner will receive $200 Chamber Bucks, second place will get $150 Chamber Bucks, and third will be awarded $100 Chamber Bucks. Winners do not need to be present at the drawing.
Tickets can be purchased for $5 at various Chamber member locations or at the Chamber office. Call 935-8595 for more information.
Dec. 11: SC Democrats Holiday Party
There will be a joint Stevens County Democrats/7th Legislative District Holiday Party on Sunday, Dec. 11, at 1 p.m. at Quartzite Brewing Co. in Chewelah. There will be food and drink available.
