Nov. 19: Pub crawl and poker for pets
The Third Annual Pub Crawl and Poker for Pets to support Becky’s Best Buddies Pet Rescue is coming soon! Be sure to save the date! On November 19, at 5 p.m., seven local restaurants will team up with Becky’s Best Buddies and seven local card dealers for fun, food, and fundraising with friends! Tickets are $10 and available at most participating “Pubs” or from Becky Washington and Aubrey Markel.
Becky’s Best Buddies Pet Rescue has been working with residents of Chewelah and Stevens County to find homes for abandoned, stray and unwanted pets. This marks the twentieth year of her pet rescue efforts. In addition to dogs, Becky has taken in horses, goats, bunnies and other small pets. Becky loves to hear from new owners who discover the joy of adoption! The funds from this Pub Crawl and Poker for Pets will go toward the care of the pets that pass-through Becky’s Best Buddies. In 2016, Becky’s Best Buddies rehomed 43 dogs.
Local restaurants generously give table space for poker dealers where lucky Pub Crawl participants hope to draw the winning five card hand for the 50/50 prize! This year, ChewVino, Sporty’s, Main Street Bistro, The American Legion, Quartzite Brewing, The Oasis, and El Ranchito are Pub Crawl destinations. Stop in to at least five of these establishments for a poker card. Cards can be drawn at all seven locations. The winner will be announced and awarded fifty percent of the ticket sales shortly after 9 p.m. at Sporty’s.
Come out for a fun night in Chewelah! The participating establishments have great food, spirits and unique atmospheres. Come out for dinner, have a drink, and try your hand at poker! Shop local! Eat Local! Support your local Pet Rescue!
