Aug. 25: Kingdom Gathering
People of all backgrounds and ages are invited to join together to pray for Kingdom Alignment “as one” on the fourth Thursday evening of each month.
Based on John 17:21, this is a calling together of Ministry Leaders, Intercessors and all who will stand together for restoration and harvest leading up to revival in these last days bringing the Kingdom of Heaven to Earth.
The gathering is at the Ambulance Conference Room (next to Ronnie D’s restaurant) at 425 North Highway 395, Colville starting at 6:30 p.m. and is open to anyone who wishes to participate. For more information contact Roy or Lorelei Harris 509-276-2219.
Aug. 26: St Paul Lutheran food drive, Mountain Dew boys concert
St. Paul Lutheran and Thrivent Financial are sponsoring a food drive for our Chewelah Food Bank in celebration of St. Paul’s 100 year anniversary.
The “Mountain Dew Boys” of Spokane will be providing music, blues, country and gospel, at an outside venue in the back parking lot and lawn of St. Paul Lutheran,110 N Second St. West on Friday, Aug. 26 from 6-9 p.m. The event is free to the community, but you may bring a can or more of food to be donated to our local food bank. Cash donations will also be accepted.
Our goal is to fill the back of a pickup with food for the food bank while enjoying a nice relaxing evening with your families and friends. Our community is aware of the need for the food which is distributed through the Chewelah Food Bank and this is one way St. Paul Lutheran shows their support.
There will be hot dogs, snow cones, water and soft drinks available for sale during the special music from the “Mountain Dew Boys.”
The well-known “Bike & Build” will be staying at St. Paul Lutheran for the fifteenth year and joining in with our celebration. Bike & Build is an organization who engage young adults that ride their bicycles across the United States from coast-to-coast raising funds for their organization to benefit affordable housing. The Bike & Build Northern group is staying at St. Paul Lutheran overnight on August 26. You can find more information on their organization at bikeandbuild.org.
Come and join us at St Paul Lutheran for our continuing 100 year celebration, meet the Bike & Build young adults and enjoy the great music provided by the Mountain Dew Boys. Bring your families and friends and enjoy a hot dog, snow cone and the great music for free.

Aug. 28: ARDEN FAITH MISSIONARY SPEAKER
Norris Ward, a missionary who is with Assisting U.S.A. Church Planters, has been invited to speak at Arden Faith Baptist Church on Aug. 28, 2016.
Norris and Ann Ward are sent out of Calvary Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee; they have been serving the Lord faithfully all over America.
On Sunday, Aug. 28, Norris and Ann Ward will share, with the church, how God has blessed them. Norris will preach at Arden Faith Baptist Church which is located six miles south of Colville. The church address is 673 Arden Hill Road, and it is known as the “church on the hill above the mill.” Sunday school starts at 9:45 a.m., first service beigns at 11 a.m., and the afternoon service begins at 1:15 p.m. There will also be a pot-blessing at 12:15 p.m. Dr. Arthur Houk, Pastor, invites the public to attend.
Aug. 31: Pixels and Pints Event
Trails End Gallery and Quartzite Brewing Company present Pixels and Pints, a free social event for all Photographers in the region on August 31 from 7-8:30 p.m.
A cash bar will be available at 6:45 p.m. Please bring your own food.
Come on down to Quartzite Brewing Company and buy your fellow photographers a beer and they might buy you one. Swap stories, lies, and business cards. Chat about the joys and challenges of photography and get to know lots of other photographers who are part of our vibrant photo community in Northeast Washington. Sept. 1: St. Joseph’s Hospital Blood Drive
The Inland Northwest Blood Center along with the Providence St. Joseph’s Hospital Community Blood Drive volunteers, led by Linda Webb, will be coordinating a blood drive on Thursday, Sept. 1 from 2-4:30 p.m.
INBC needs an average of 200 blood donors every day to meet the needs of more than 35 hospitals in the Inland Northwest. A single donation can save the lives of up to three people.

Sept. 13: theology uncorked
St. Mary of the Rosary Catholic Church in Chewelah is hosting its third “Theology Uncorked” series. Folks who enjoy good food, fine wine, lots of fun, and would like to learn about Catholic Christian spirituality of the Cross are invited to come out and enjoy themselves with some good company Tuesday nights this Fall (September 13, 20, and 27). Theology Uncorked will take place each of these three nights beginning at 7 p.m. at St. Mary of the Rosary parish hall (Café di Maria). Folks are invited to bring wine, beer, or appetizers (finger foods) to share, and Fr. Jeff Lewis will present on different aspects of Catholic Christian spirituality of the Cross. Catholics and non-Catholics alike are invited to join us and enjoy some wine and appetizers at Café di Maria. The dates and discussions are as follows:
Sept. 13: Veneration of the Cross — what the Cross means to Christians; the history of the Cross; popular Catholic Christian devotions regarding the Cross (such as the Sign of the Cross, Stations of the Cross, etc.)
Sept. 20: From the Bible, what are the Seven Last Words (spoken to the Cross)?

Sept. 18: Round About 5k
Deer Park Physical Therapy & Fitness Center is hosting their 6th annual Round About 5K in Deer Park on Sept. 18, 2016 with a start of 9 a.m.
The race takes the walkers and runners on a pleasant course along the streets and through the city’s two roundabouts. Proceeds from the 5K go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Registration Fee: Registrations costs $18 through Sept. 2 to be guaranteed a T-shirt, and $28 after. All fees are non-refundable. There are prizes for top finishers overall male and female, and top finishers in each age group.
