As a continuation of our Local Food Forums, Chewelah UCC will be presenting a series of free food preservation workshops open to the public. Our series of workshops will cover a wide variety of food preservation methods from dehydration to freezing and from pressure canning to boiling water bath canning. Come join us and learn a new skill to help you save money and eat healthier food.
Our first workshop will teach you how to dehydrate food for storage. Susan Chamberlin will teach this workshop using apricots. You’ll get hands on experience prepping the apricots for dehydration and get to taste the final product. Susan has years of experience dehydrating foods and can answer questions you may have about drying other types of foods.
