Cobb, Miller and Krouse win events for Cougars as well..
Chewelah faced off against Lakeside and Riverside on Wednesday, posting several first place finishes and personal bests. The Chewelah girls defeated Riverside 79-66 and fell to Lakeside 104.5-47.5. The Chewelah boys fell to both Riverside and Lakeside.
Here’s how the team did…
In the throwing events, Conner Krouse was first in the shot put (47-10), while Kolten Cairns was fourth (36-01) and Wade Baker was sixth (35-8.5). Krouse was also first in the discus (128-04) with a season-best mark. Baker was third with a personal best discus throw of 102-00.
Brad Larson placed third in the javelin (101-01) with a personal best. Brenden Flanagan posted a season-best (18-8) in the long jump and placed second.
Peyton Danly was third in the 100-meter run with a season best 11.69, he also placed third in the 200-meter run (24.58). Freshman Judah Katona notched a personal best while placing sixth in the 200-meter run (26.10).
Wyatt Collins was third in the 400-meter run with a personal best (62.00), while Reimes Schatz posted a season best 2.25.39 in the 800-meter run and placed third.
Lillian Kirry posted a personal best 26.37 in the 200-meter run and placed first. Kirry was also first in the 100-meter hurdles (15.88) with another personal best and picked up a third event win with a 48.31 mark in the 300-meter hurdles.
Maggie Cobb was second in the 100-meter hurdles (16.18).
Freshman Charlotte Falstad was fifth in the 100-meter run (14.00) with a personal best. Liandra Haden placed second in the 400-meter run (70.99) with a personal best.
In the throwing events, Kyrstan Miller was first in the shot put (36-5) while Beatrice Ilari was fourth (25-6). Miller was third in the discus (97-09). Haden was fifth in the discus (82-05) and third in the javelin (86-11).
Cobb was second in the long jump (15-.5) and first in the triple jump (36-.5). Kirry was third in the triple jump (32-3.5).
