The 6th grade theatre class at Gess Elementary will open their show Pages to Stages on Monday, April 15. The show will run daily for one week starting at 11 a.m. each day. The play will run about 35 minutes. The public is invited to attend at the Gess Little Theatre.
The very short stories were written by Miss Sety’s and Mr. Kersey’s 3rd grade classes. The stories were given to the 6th grade actors who then adapted the stories into short scenes. They cast the scenes, blocked them, and memorized their adaptations. The young 3rd grade authors will be recognized at the productions.
The class is also very excited for the public to see their “little theatre.” Platforms, curtains, lighting, and flats have been added to create the space. Some of the actors performing just finished acting in the production of Bugsy Malone. You will see these and actors perform in a variety of scenes. “How to Make a Friend,” “How to Catch a Fish,” “How to Babysit a Dog,” “How to Find a Unicorn” and “Let’s Get Cooking” are just a few of the titles.
