Well, we didn’t raise the debt ceiling. We took it clear off for three months, a spending spree on steroids. I heard a non-true story of a home with backed-up plumbing. Since the plumbers felt the load would be too great on the drainfield, the only cure they had was to raise the roof.
So it is with our Congress. Yes, Obama will make executive rules and spend like a drunk sailor. But the law reads that all laws must originate and all spending will be approved in the House of Representatives.
To balance a family budget, we cut out items. That should be easy for Congress since three out of four dollars they spend violate their mandate for spending, the Constitution.
All they would need is a simple majority to balance the budget, or stop illegal laws.
We will soon hear about a Compact for America, including a Balanced Budget Amendment. This is supposed to slow national spending, but it won’t, because there are loopholes. And lawyers love loopholes. And don’t trust a Constitutional Convention, (con-con), because there is no control once it starts. You know who would end up running the thing.
Just say no. No, Mr. President, We won’t enforce the Executive Order and there won’t be any money allocated. No, Senate and Supreme Court, you don’t make laws. The buck has to stop at Congress.
