I would like to thank all the candidates who ran for Stevens County Commissioner. Malcolm Friedman, Steve Parker, Mark Beck and Wes McCart put themselves out there in the public eye and gave the voters a choice.
It’s never easy to run for elected office since you have to be everywhere throughout the County during the campaign and it’s very expensive to campaign. And you open yourself up to public criticism since it’s impossible to make everyone happy with your views.
Malcolm Friedman has done an excellent job and he has guided us through tough economic times. Steve Parker ran his privately owned business during the same economic times. Mark Beck is from the most southern part of our County and he chose to run for office even though he is less known up north.
I am grateful to these four candidates and again, I’m glad they gave us all an opportunity to have a choice.
Mike Brunson, Capt.
