Chewelah School District Superintendent Rick Linehan presented the WASA (Washington Association of School Administrators) Community Leadership Award to Sherri Hansen at the Chewelah Chamber of Commerce meeting on May 4, 2012.
“Sherri Hansen has been a tremendous leader throughout her life here in Chewelah and this past year has been a good example of that leadership,” Linehan said.
She is involved in many areas such as Dollars for Scholars for graduates, the Facility Task Force to develop building plans for Chewelah School District, and the District Levy Committee that helped pass a four-year M&O Levy. Hansen is also a leader in fund raising and promotion for the Chamber of Commerce and a leader in fund raising events for needy patrons, Linehan said.
According to the WASA website at www.wasa-oly.org, the Community Leadership Award is presented to community members or groups in recognition of their outstanding contributions toward education.
