Lady Chargers notch 34 combined runs against LRS…
The Springdale batters were en fuego in their set with Lind-Ritzville-Sprague, totalling 34 combined runs in the two wins, 21-14 and 13-5.
In the first game, the Chargers fell behind in the early going after the Broncos put up seven runs in the third inning to go ahead 9-3. Not to be outdone, the Chargers put up eight runs of their own in the top of the fourth and followed that up woth ten more over the remainder of the game for the win.
Faith Goforth led the offensive firepower for Springdale in the game with four hits, four runs, and six RBIs. Acevedo added two doubles in the game and was the winning pitcher for the Chargers.
The second game was shortened due to daylight and saw Springdale jump out to an 8-3 lead after the first inning and kept adding to the lead every inning after. A sixth inning rally by the Broncos nearly tied things up before the game was cut off due to darkness, reverting the score back to the last completed inning.
Springdale (2-2) had ten hits in the game, including a double by Crossley and a triple by Ross. Acevedo picked up her second win on the mound in the game.
The Chargers next host Reardan April 23 for two. Games start at 2 p.m.
