Baylee Sobosky slammed a three-run homer in the bottom of the second and the rout was on as Chewelah notched an 11-2 victory over Lind-Ritzville/Sprague in the first round of the District 7 2B softball tournament on Tuesday.
Sobosky finished with four RBI.
Bailey Smith, Leah Carpenter and Zandra Nelson each registered two hits apiece for Chewelah, which improved its record to 13-7 on the year.
Abby Fuller went seven innings, struck out eight and scattered four LRS hits. Fuller has 99 strikeouts on the year.
Chewelah led 6-1 after three and a half innings, then notched three runs in the fourth and two more insurance runs in the sixth.
The Cougars advance to the district semifinals where they face 18-2 Colfax at Franklin Field in Spokane at 1 p.m.
