Here is the Police Blotter by Chewelah Chief of Police Mark Burrows for Sept. 19, 2019…
Week of September 19, 2019
September 23rd is the first day of Autumn. This is proof that time is “hauling the-mail” and that we all need to be looking for reasons to get up in the morning, look for new possibilities and act to explore them.
So far this year, the Chewelah P.D. has handled over 1,600 calls for service. In the first half of September, the Chewelah PD has responded to about 100 calls and here’s a summary: Two burg alarms; an area check; a burglary; custodial interference; and five disturbance calls. Two dog complaints were reported; two domestic disturbances; a request for extra patrols; a hulked vehicle inspection; three info reports; and a juvenile problem. Two lost/found property reports (one was a small white BMX bicycle); a MHP complaint; a protection order violation; prowler; an assault; five runaway reports; and a security check. A few contacts of suspicious persons, following too close; four suspicious vehicles; a report of a stolen vehicle; seven theft reports; three collisions; a report of a traffic situation; three vehicle prowls; four welfare checks and 37 traffic stops with the intent of promoting traffic safety. The Chewelah Police Department thanks you for your support, we’ll see you on the street.
