I would like to publicly thank the elected officials who spoke to our students at Mary Walker School in Springdale this past year. These elected officials found the time in their busy schedules to talk with our children about their futures, their rural upbringing, and their bright futures.
Specifically, I would like to thank Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers, State Representative Shelly Short, and Stevens County Commissioner Larrry Guenther. These individuals found the time to visit Mary Walker School and spend time with our children.
Although Mary Walker is a small, rural school, these elected officials took the time to visit our school and address issues important to our students. I believe these particular officials view our children as a vital resource in our community and a valued resource to our society.
I am personally grateful to have these elected officials representing the people of Stevens County. Although Commissioner Guenther is not running for re-election, I plan to vote for Congresswoman Rodgers and Representative Shelly Short in this year’s election. These individuals sincerely believe in our children and they strongly believe in our rural lifestyle.
Michael J. Brunson, Capt.
Director, District 1
