Bus driver, student injured in the collision…
After a school bus struck a semi-truck near Williams Lake Road and Highway 395 this morning, one student and the school bus driver were transported to Mt. Carmel Hospital. Washington State Patrol reported that the school bus driver has serious injuries while the student had minor injuries. The school bus is from the Colville School District.
The collision caused the highway to be blocked in both directions and there is no hard timeline on when it will reopen.
The Washington State Patrol reported that 25 students were on the bus at the time of the collission and the uninjured children were taken to Hewes Marine Co., the Statesman Examiner is reporting. Parents are asked to call Hewes at 509-684-5235, the Statesman said.
A detour is in place for southbound traffic from Valley Westside Road to Oakshott Road.
Highway 395 has just reopened Thursday night after being closed for weeks because of flooding.
