(By Stevens County Conservation District)
Although we’re just beginning the fall season and wildfires are still burning across the Inland Northwest, it’s never too early to start thinking ahead to next spring and planting season. Every year, the Stevens County Conservation District (SCCD) offers native trees and shrubs for the public to purchase for reforestation, wildlife habitat enhancement, streambank stabilization, beautification, and much more. In 2018, SCCD will continue the tree sales program for its 42nd year.
Native plants are uniquely adapted for our region and are hardy enough to withstand our cold winters, hot dry summers, and the presence of our local wildlife. Once established, many of them need little or no irrigation or fertilization. They offer food and shelter for our area’s birds, insects, and other animals. SCCD can fill orders of all sizes, whether you’re looking for a handful of shrubs to beautify a yard or need to reforest hundreds of acres.
Orders can be placed now and will be available for pickup in April 2018.
To receive an order form, call or stop by our temporary office, visit our website, or email at the information below.
