Peter Frisvold 1921-2017
Peter Martin Frisvold (95) passed away in Walla Walla, WA on June 4, 2017. He was born in Addy, WA on September 13, 1921 to Charles and Mabel (Egland) Frisvold.
Pete graduated from Jenkins High School (Chewelah) in 1940. He joined the Coast Guard during World War II. While stationed in Garibaldi, Oregon he met Margret Bell. They married on January 26, 1945 and returned to Chewelah, WA. Pete worked for Northwest Magnasite until it closed in 1968. He then worked as a director for the Community Action Council in Colville, Walla Walla and Olympia.
After retiring Pete and Margret returned to Walla Walla. Margret passed away in October 1990. Pete met ViRae Allison and they lived together until ViRae passed away in May 2012. Pete had been living at Walla Walla Oddfellows until he passed away.
Pete enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and golf. He was always ready to help his family, neighbors, and community. In particular, he contributed enormous time and energy supporting Boy Scouts, youth baseball and American Legion. In 1992 he traveled to Norway with his sister Thelma Luckey visiting their relatives and the area where their father Charles grew up. This was one of his favorite times.
Pete is survived by his four sons Martin (Bunny) of Seattle, WA, Gary (Barbara) of Leland, North Carolina, Randy (Phyllis) of Addy, WA, and Robin (Linda) of Walla Walla, WA, 9 grand children and 17 great grand children and 2 great great grand children, and his sister Thelma Luckey of Medical Lake, WA.
A celebration of Pete’s life will be held at a family memorial.
