The Washington State Patrol reported that Evonna A. Hyde, 20, of Springdale was struck by a green vehicle and killed while she was walking along state Route 231 on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at about 7:30 p.m.
Emergency personnel responded to the report of the incident about two miles north of Ford and administered CPR. However, Ms. Hyde was pronounced dead at the scene by the Stevens County Fire Department at about 8 p.m.
The initial WSP report stated that an “unknown green vehicle” fled the scene. They reported later that a suspect has been identified and a suspect vehicle was impounded.
It is unknown whether intoxicants played a role in the crash.
Authorities have not released any further details because the incident remains under investigation.
