A Medicine Wheel retreat was held at Dr. Catherine Reimer’s home on August 14-15, focusing on integration and peace. A select group of self-described grandmas slept in tents and teepees and braved coyote calls and the elements while reflecting on the body, mind, emotional and social parts of life.
Donations from the retreat went to supporting rescued horses at the Second Chance Animal Sanctuary, ran by Mary Wilson.
At the retreat, they focused on the wonder of the horses and the Alaska Medicine Wheel. The medicine wheel is an assessment to help us see where we put all of our time. It was developed by Dr. Catherine Reimer.
It differs from others because of the spiritual effects as it takes in every component of lives as well as connections to the environment, animals and cosmos.
Dr. Reimer has dedicated her life to share the Alaska Medicine Wheel and if you’re interested in having her speak, contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
