Long-time city employee and current public works supervisor Gary Nussbaum will celebrate his retirement this Friday, June 14 at Quartzite Brewing starting at 4 p.m. There is no specific program for the event, just come for a visit and wish him a happy retirement.
Nussbaum has worked for the city for 41 years and announced his plan to retire in April. His last day will be June 28.
“I sincerely appreciate the 41 years with the city of Chewelah. I hope I never took for granted the opportunity I had to work in my hometown all these years. I’ve been very blessed, to say the least,” Nussbaum said in his resignation letter. “I wish the best for the city of Chewelah and to all those that keep the city running in so many different capacities. Thank you to all that have supported me through all these many years.”]
