Faith Community Church in Chewelah has a new face.
The church, located just behind Safeway on Colville Street, has hired new youth pastor Aric Beers. Beers is coming off a year mission in Bolivia and is excited for the opportunity to continue youth ministry.
“I lived and grew up in Colville and have been looking for a way to continue youth leadership,” Aric said. “My dad George is the pastor at the Assembly of God Church in Colville.”
As the title implies, Beers will be working with youth at Faith Community Church, helping with Sunday school, leading Wednesday youth services, outreaching to community youth and planning events.
“This is what I have experience in and the way things lined up, I thought this opportunity had the biggest chance of impacting a large number of youth,” Beers said.
Beers was raised in the Assembly of God church in Colville and through high school served as a youth leader there. While he was in Bolivia for a year, he was also a mission youth leader.
“My goals are to create a fun environment with wholesome learnings,” Beers said. “We want people to learn about God and enjoy doing it.”
The current youth group at Faith Community Church averages about ten kids and the church is also gearing up for their Halloween event which allows community kids to enjoy the holiday safely in the church’s sanctuary.
Faith Community Church also has enough space to host community events, some of which Beers will be planning, and people are always welcome to come check out the church.
