I am Fr. Jeff Lewis, and I am the new Catholic priest in town. Now that I am finally settled in (more or less), I thought that I would take this opportunity to introduce myself to the Chewelah community. I am sure that people have seen me at some point walking around town (especially around lunch time); I tend to walk wherever I need to go in town if I venture out to find a good sandwich, some tasty pizza, or a bit of Mexican food for lunch. In case you have not seen me yet: I tend to wear all black with a white collar, and I measure just shy of six-and-a-half feet tall.
Being recently ordained to the Catholic priesthood, being fairly young yet, and being new to the area, I have arrived with lots of energy and lots of enthusiasm at the prospect of being a part of the Chewelah community. I love meeting people and have been known to be rather extroverted (“an extrovert on steroids” as somebody once remarked!), so I hope that people would feel free to introduce themselves and welcome me to their hometown. It is my joy and honor to be here, to be of service to the Chewelah family, and I look forward to doing my part in serving this community and helping us to grow.
