Bill Evans of Bothell broke a state record by snagging a largemouth bass weighing 12.53 pounds in a lake south of Cedar Falls in Snohomish County.
The previous record for a large mouth bass was set in 1977 when Carl Pruitt caught a bass weighing 11.57 points in Banks Lake.
Evans took the monster fish in Lake Bosworth. The largemouth bass was 23 inches long with a girth of 22.5 inches.
Evans has been fishing for 40 years and moved to Washington State a few years ago. It was his first time at Lake Bosworth.
