Freeman’s baseball season didn’t take a break for Spring, as the Scotties picked up two wins against nonleague foes at Avista Stadium on Wednesday. Colville softball also swept nonleague foe Omak.
FREEMAN WINS TWO AT AVISTA STADIUM
Freeman 8, Cashmere 0
Freeman got a two-hit complete game gem from McCabe Cottrell at Avista Stadium on Wednesday. The Scotties were able to score four in the third inning and two runs in the fourth and fifth. Cashmere walked seven batters and hit another two. Cottrell also contributed at the plate with three hits and two RBI.
Freeman 6, Cheney 2
Freeman improved to 5-2 on the year with a 6-2 victory over 2A Cheney on Wednesday. The Scotties’ pitching continued to be key as Desmond Parisotto threw a four-hitter while striking out nine in the win. Freeman built up a 3-0 lead through five innings then scored three runs in the top of the seventh. Cheney answered with two runs in the bottom of the stanza. Freeman finished with 11 hits, including three from Parisotto.
COLVILLE SWEEPS OMAK IN DOUBLEHEADER
Colville 8, Omak 7
Colville came back from a 5-0 deficit in the first inning to win 8-7 in nonleague play on Wednesday. Omak held the edge in hits 13-6 but committed six errors in the matchup. Colville answered back with six runs in the second inning and scored the winning run in the bottom of the eighth.
Colville 5, Omak 1
Colville bumped their record to 6-1 on the year with a 5-1 victory over nonleague foe Omak to sweep the doubleheader. Gracie Schauls pitched a complete game one-hitter while striking out seven. Hallie Cox added two RBI singles to the Indians’ efforts.
