The bodies of a couple missing since May 1 has been located in their Ford pickup submerged in the Kettle River about 25 miles north of Colville.
The Washington State Patrol reported this week that Paul H. Schneider, 72, was found dead with his wife Lynne on Monday afternoon, May 16, submerged in the Kettle River just north of milepost 256 on HWY 395.
The WSP reported that the Schneiders were apparently northbound in their 2004 Ford F350 when they left the roadway and entered the Kettle River.
Mr. Schneider apparently had serious medical problems and his wife suffered from Alzheimer’s Disease. They left home at about 7 a.m. on Sunday, May 1 and spoke with family members around 8 a.m. The couple indicated that they were going to get some coffee and did not return. The Stevens County Sheriff had reported that couple had not returned as of 4 p.m. that Monday.
The cause is under investigation.
