This is in response to the woman who wrote to complain about Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers and medicare. (Letters, June 14, 2012)
One individual is not responsible for the poor health care medicaid provides. Obama Care addresses those people who can afford private health insurance but does not address medicaid. In fact, the President, the U.S. Senate, and the House of Representatives all have refused to address the current state of medicaid and when they do, it will make medicaid coverage even worse than it is now.
Cathy McMorris Rodgers is only one of 435 members of the House of Representatives. She cannot influence the level of care provided by medicaid by herself. She grew up in our rural county so she knows the additional problems associated with getting to a hospital in addition to being seen by a doctor that those in big cities don’t have to deal with.
I’m sure Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers is doing everything she can to provide better medicaid coverage, however, she is only one vote in the House of Representatives.
