Gallery TEDD welcomes back Featured Artist Margo Sety…
Tri County Economic Development District is pleased to welcome Margo Sety as it’s current Featured Artist in Gallery TEDD. This is the second time the Gallery has displayed the Chewelah native’s beautiful watercolor paintings, many of them featuring scenes from around the Chewelah area. TEDD currently has twelve of Sety’s original watercolors, along with prints and notecards, on public display through the month of July. The public is welcome to come view and purchase the displayed art during regular business hours, Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Sety is a third grade teacher who has always creatively dabbled. Growing up, her parents encouraged her to try anything, whether in the kitchen, outdoors, or in the garage. Her mom let her carve the bar soap into bits and kept a box of toilet paper rolls and cereal boxes on hand for projects, and her dad let her borrow tools and helped her use them. Creative interests led to art classes in middle and high school and an art minor in college with a teaching endorsement from EWU. She feels privileged to be able to use her creative skills to contribute to community projects such as the award-winning Chewelah Float, scenery and props for theatre productions, and designing posters for community events. She is happiest when she is creating, including painting, adapting a recipe, carving a foam piece for the float, or designing a new lesson for her third graders.
TEDD invites artists interested in displaying their work to download an application packet from the Tri County Economic Development website, www.tricountyedd.com. The Gallery TEDD committee will be looking in particular for works that convey a sense of Northeast Washington, but all art- paintings, sculpture, mixed media, etc., will be considered. For more information, call Tri County Economic Development District at 509-684-4571 or visit www.tricountyedd.com.
