(Top left) The Independent usually receives a moose picture once a year from one of our faithful readers, but this last week produced a flurry of pictures showing the oversized deer roaming our neighborhoods. Darlene Preston photographed these moose leaving town after a stroll down W. Main Ave. on the morning of Saturday, Jan. 12.
(Top right) Odd Vaarvik caught this bull moose nosing through a blue spruce tree in his yard near the golf course on Jan. 7. When the moose became startled, he took off with a strand of Christmas lights trailing from his antlers. Hopefully, Odd will find his lights in the spring!
(Bottom left) Jim Homburg found this moose looking for food near his Sand Canyon home on Jan. 15. Homburg said he has seen moose near his home for the last five years.
(Bottom right) Jessica Carpenter watched as this pair of moose meandered through her neighborhood in the area of W. Jenkins and Bernard on Saturday morning.
