Cruz gained respect not endorsing Trump
At the Republican National Convention, Texan Ted Cruz made it quite clear that voting for your party’s nominee is no where near as important as voting your conscience when it comes to being faithful to the U.S. Constitution and defending freedom. Cruz was later quoted as saying that he was not going to be a servile puppy to Donald Trump. In the dictionary, “servile” means of or befitting a slave or a menial position, and cravenly submissive.
Stevens County Republican Party Chair Grant Peterson was quoted as saying, “He broke protocol, he did not bring party unity, he actually fractured it further.”
I became a fan of Ted Cruz last week because he was not willing to compromise his constitutional values and principles to join the Trump Social Club.
All things considered, I would be much more concerned about fracturing my conscience than being booed and called a traitor to the Trump Social Club.
