Republican Legislators both locally and nationally have a fine opportunity right now to be the bigger person and lead by example. They have an opportunity to put party aside and stand for what’s right.
Matt Shea and company have made it their business to abuse their positions and power in a host of different ways. Additionally, you can’t tell me everyone in Shea’s district is in lock step with his beliefs and as such he has a fiduciary responsibility to represent ALL of his constituents in keeping with his oath and the constitution.
Enough is enough. His conduct is unbecoming of both his office and his humanity.
It’s bad enough he’s been allowed to call people of his district and others names like “communists,” “antifa,” or “members of the KGB” for simply disagreeing with him.
It’s insanity that he can try and excuse his repulsive ideology of “killing” people that do not “yield” to his beliefs.
But now, now he’s volunteering to violate people’s 4th Amendment right and spy on them for being in opposition to his political and religious views?
Arguably, he’s done everything he’s done and continues to do under the color of authority and in direct violation of the constitution he’s sworn to uphold.
He lies, he deflects, he accuses others of what he himself does, he plays the victim and he rallys through fear. He exploits the legitimate concerns of good people to further his twisted and blasphemous goals.
The words narcissist and sociopath seem fitting to say the least.
We have city councils, mayors, sheriffs, commissioners, legislators and senators of our own and I’m calling on them to denounce the continued attacks of YOUR CONSTITUENTS by your own colleague.
The weirdest thing is that I agree with Matt Shea on many things. Smaller government, less taxes, more liberty and an adherence to the constitution but I also will NEVER condone or silently accept the ideology of a theocracy and the attempts, offers or involvement of violating United States citizens’ rights. I’m calling on our representatives to do the same.
This is the time for people to put political divisiveness and partisan loyalty aside and do what’s honorable and publicly condemn what has become habitual from Matt Shea and his cohorts.
The abuse of your constituents, your neighbors, your fellow citizens is unacceptable and silence is consent.
Silence won’t be forgotten.
I will never “yield.” Will you? Or have you already?
