Donald John Trump, the presumptive G.O.P. candidate for President of these United States, was sent to the New York Military Academy, at the age of 13, due to his extensive behavioral problems with authority and a severe disdain for military service, which he was able to side-step when he became of age.
Donald Trump’s mother, Mary Anne Trump, was working in one of his father’s hotels when she met Fred Trump, one of New York City’s biggest real estate developers, married him as an immigrant from the Isle of Lewis, Scotland and I suppose, the rest, is a success story…
Being part Scotch-Irish, I tend to like this story, however, Donald Trump’s vision to “Make America Great Again” doesn’t include people like his mother, who know what poverty is and want to make a better life for themselves and their families, including her son. I suppose if you are born with a silver or platinum spoon in your mouth, you might reject those different from yourself. Yet, they might be the ones holding the spoon.
