HOLIDAY FAVORITE: Enjoy this stage adaptation of the beloved holiday movie…
Christmas comes early at the Chewelah Center for the Arts as the beloved holiday film “Elf” makes its way to the stage.
Premiering this Friday, Stagetime’s “Elf Jr. The Musical” tells the story of Buddy, a young orphan, who mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. Buddy will be played by Elijah Fazio.
The would-be elf is raised, unaware that he is actually a human, until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth.
With Santa’s permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Faced with the harsh reality that his father is on the naughty list and that his half-brother doesn’t even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas.
Directed by Mackenzie Accord, Stagetime’s production of “Elf Jr.” features Elijah Fazio as Buddy, Caelyn Beck as Jovie, Nathan Larsen as Walter Hobbs, Sarah Torgerson as Emily Hobbs and Frankie Sety as Michael Hobbs.
“People should expect a hilarious and heart warming play based on the beloved holiday film “Elf” that follows Buddy the Elf in his quest to find his true identity,” Accord said. “It took a lot of hard work and long hours to put this show together, but I am extremely happy with the outcome.”
Showtimes for Elf Jr. are this coming Friday at 7 p.m,, Saturday at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., as well as Sunday at 2 and 7 p.m.
“I am so proud of my actors and everything that they have done to make this show as wonderful as it is. It is truly a joy to watch them perform,” Accord said.
