The Jenkins Junior Senior High School ceremony will start Saturday, June 6 at 10 a.m. live streamed with Welcomes, Salutatorian and Valedictorian speeches. The live stream will be accessed through a link on Chewelah school website and Facebook page. Again, it will also be recorded by professional videographers to memorialize the Commencement.
Each student was mailed a copy of their Group A-M and corresponding time. It is extremely important that you arrive on time and park in the high school parking lot. Carrie Sheppard will be holding a sign by the gym entryway, indicating which group will be entering the building.
Students, please maintain social distancing with anyone outside your family as you enter the building at the gym entrance. Please stay in your cars until your group is called. Students must wear a face mask until they enter the stage. It is highly recommended that parents wear a facemask as well.
Students will be assisted as to when to walk down the hallway with their parents to the main office area cafetorium for their ceremony.
After you walk across the stage, switch your tassel and throw your cap, you will exit the cafetorium door toward the portable classrooms and will need to go directly to your vehicles. This will keep everyone safe and compliant with requirements for the school at this time. Please do not hang out with other students and families.
There will be an independent professional photographer at the city park behind the art pavilion to take pictures of the individual graduates after your ceremony. You are advised to social distance as you wait in turn for your time for photos.
On Sunday, at 9:30 a.m., our local parent group has organized an unofficial parade through the town of Chewelah.
