Harry Duffield 1945-2016
Harry Thomas Duffield was born on January 14, 1945 in Long Branch, New Jersey. He pased away of natural causes on July 6, 2016 at home in Chewelah, WA.
Harry moved from Long Branch, NJ to Seattle, WA and joined the Navy in 1963. He served in the Vietnam War where he became a prisoner of war. He was housed in the infamous Hanoi Hilton. He later escaped the prison and helped seven officers escape as well. After coming home from the war, he married his first wife, Linda. She preceded him in death in the 1990s.
He met his future wife, Bonnie, in 1999. They were married Dec. 29, 2000. They were close to their 16th anniversary when Harry went to be with His Lord. Bonnie and Harry had moved to Chewelah in 2008. Harry loved fishing, “calling” Bingo and could often be seen rolling around Chewelah in his electric wheelchair. Harry was a faithful member of Faith Community Church. He will be deeply missed by Bonnie, his church family and all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Faith Community Church on July 23, 2016 at 1 p.m.
