Avery Arnold finished second with a score of 99 to lead the Lady Cougars to their third straight golf win last week at Deer Park. She shot a 52 on the front nine holes and finished with a 47 on the back nine last Monday, April 29.
Tessa DeTillion shot 112, Alison Brashler 119, Becca Bennett 101 and Kailee Parrott 126. The team score of 557 lifted the girls into first place. They are now 3-0 in league matches.
Blake Burya played his best round of the year and shot 98 with a score of 51 on the front nine and 47 on the back nine. Bryant Roy and
Dakota Bell-Towne both played nine-hole matches and shot 65 and 70, respectively.
“Surprisingly, most of the kids played better on the back nine.” said Coach Brian Harting. “The wind really started blowing later in the afternoon and the temperature dropped quite a bit. The back nine in Deer Park also has a lot more trouble with water.”
This week is the last of the league matches for the Cougars. They travel Stoneridge and Ritzville next.
